Our Youtube Channel
Since 2012 we’ve been working very hard building up our YouTube Channel. We upload weekly videos showcasing our retrofits, new products and the hugely successful “How To” videos for our very varied audience of subscribers that is now over 40k!
With over 700 videos, more than 25 million views and an ever-increasing subscriber count, we decided that it was time to try a “Project Series” – where every week, we would release a new episode of what we’d done, how we’d done it and what we were doing next on a second-hand popular make and model.
For this exciting new idea, we chose a good old reliable Mk5 VW Golf that we had purchased from a good friend of the business. This 2008 model had covered 151k miles and was reasonably well looked after. We paid £600 for it and immediately sat down to discuss what we could do to the car to make our existing subscribers and new subscribers look forward to the new video each week. Before long, we had a long list of mods to keep us busy!
We didn’t realise how much, people around the world loved watching stuff like this as we saw viewer numbers, comments and subscribers all start to go up. We regularly upload videos of cool cars and expensive sports cars, but most people can’t relate to these, so taking apart a seventeen-year-old car, installing a custom built audio system with extensive sound deadening, ambient lighting and other mod cons obviously really appeals to you all..
During the process, we have continued with our very popular “How To” videos – so that, you at home can have a go, save some money, and try things that you wouldn’t normally do yourself. It’s these “How To” videos that have helped us amass such a decent number of loyal subscribers – so don’t worry. We’ll continue to upload these as often as we can!
Our channel is monetised, which means that YouTube use our videos, along with others to show adverts on them, which means that we get paid. All this revenue adds up, so we can reinvest it in quality new kit to make more videos and build the channel and subscribers even further. We’ve got some exciting new ideas for our next “Project Car” which will be another German model, but something a bit different. Stay tuned, so you don’t miss out!
