How to find your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN - Chassis Number)
Every UK registered vehicle will have this unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) that contains important details regarding your vehicle’s specification, manufacturer and more. The code is 17 characters long and identifies your vehicle so that you can gain access to valuable information regarding the cars history. The code identifies the individual car and as a result cannot be changed to protect the identity of each vehicle.

The number is usually stamped into the vehicles chassis and can be found on most UK cars near the bottom of the windscreen on the passenger side, which is often referred to as the "Visible VIN" due to its accessibility. Alternatively, it can also be found in other vehicle documents or service book but also most commonly found on the V5 from DVLA.
